Goals in Motion

Crisp air, smell of freshly cut grass, spring has finally arrive! A new month is approaching quickly. Take this perfect opportunity to take a look at your aspirations and make a plan of action to achieve your goals. Here are some helpful tips on working towards improving your life, living the best you you can be.

    1. Prioritize! Many of us have a long bucket list of things that we want to achieve. Often times, when it comes to the reality of our life situation, we cannot do it all at once. When we bite off more than we can chew, often times it leads to the feelings of overwhelm and paralysis. This is counterproductive in our evolution. Make a list of goals, then re-do the list with the most important on top, least important on bottom. Pick 1 or 2 for this month. This will give you the opportunity to really narrow in your energies into making your dreams to a reality.

    2. Create a daily plan of action.Take 5-10 minutes in the morning and evening to create a daily plan of action to achieve your goals. It takes small steps to run a marathon. Focus your attention on what you can do for the day, just one day, and make it happen. For example, if your goal for the month is to improve your physical endurance, plan to run a little bit longer than you would normally. Make extra time for your fitness. When time is allocated daily for your goals, your goals will manifest into reality.
    3. Visualize and reward.Motivation is the key in propelling us forward, to keep us moving in the direction that we desire. Spending a few minutes, whenever the opportunity presents itself, to daydream your life when your goal has been achieved, will trigger powerful mental strength that will catapult you into living the actions to make it happen. Before you go to bed and upon awakening is the most effective time to use this tool. Also, reaffirm your actions by acknowledging your effort. Review the steps you’ve taken during the day, week, and mentally affirm your positive actions and even take time to give yourself a reward.

When we fail to plan, we plan to fail. Getting clear with what you want, why you want it and what you need to do to get there is not only empowering but also highly effective. Start today and take action towards living the life you always wanted!
